Nehemiah 2:17-20

17Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in, ahow Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned. Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer bsuffer derision.” 18And I told them cof the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” dSo they strengthened their hands for the good work. 19But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite servant and eGeshem the Arab heard of it, fthey jeered at us and despised us and said, “What is this thing that you are doing? gAre you rebelling against the king?” 20Then I replied to them, h“The God of heaven will make us prosper, and we his servants will arise and build, but you have no portion or right or claim
Or memorial
in Jerusalem.”

30And the priests and the Levites jpurified themselves, and they purified the people and the gates and the wall.

31Then I brought the leaders of Judah up onto the wall and appointed two great choirs that gave thanks. kOne went to the south on the wall to lthe Dung Gate. 32And after them went Hoshaiah and half of the leaders of Judah, 33and Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam, 34Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, and Jeremiah, 35and certain of the priestssons mwith trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph; 36and his relatives, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, nwith the musical instruments of David othe man of God. And Ezra the scribe went before them. 37At pthe Fountain Gate they went up straight before them by qthe stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, to rthe Water Gate on the east.

38 sThe other choir of those who gave thanks went to the north, and I followed them with half of the people, on the wall, above tthe Tower of the Ovens, to uthe Broad Wall, 39and above vthe Gate of Ephraim, and by wthe Gate of Yeshanah,
Or  of the old city
and by ythe Fish Gate and zthe Tower of Hananel and aathe Tower of the Hundred, to abthe Sheep Gate; and they came to a halt at acthe Gate of the Guard.
40So both choirs of those who gave thanks stood in the house of God, and I and half of the officials with me;
