Nehemiah 2:2-5

2And the king said to me, “Why is your face sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing but asadness of the heart.” Then I was very much afraid. 3I said to the king, b“Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad, cwhen the city, the place of my fathersgraves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?” 4Then the king said to me, “What are you requesting?” So I prayed dto the God of heaven. 5And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathersgraves, that I may rebuild it.”

Isaiah 53:3-4

3 eHe was despised and rejected
Or forsaken
by men,
a man of sorrows,
Or pains; also verse 4
and acquainted with
Or  and knowing
grief;
Or sickness; also verse 4

and as one from whom men hide their faces
Or  as one who hides his face from us

he was despised, and kwe esteemed him not.
4 lSurely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
msmitten by God, and afflicted.

Matthew 8:14-16

Jesus Heals Many

14 nAnd when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw ohis mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15He ptouched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16That evening they brought to him many who were qoppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits rwith a word and healed all who were sick.

Mark 5:38-43

38They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus

saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly.
39And when he had entered, he said to them, tWhy are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but usleeping.” 40And they laughed at him. But he vput them all outside and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was. 41 wTaking her by the hand he said to her, Talitha cumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, xarise.” 42And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement. 43And yhe strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.

Luke 7:12-13

12As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, zthe only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her. 13And when the Lord saw her, aahe had compassion on her and absaid to her, Do not weep.”
