Nehemiah 5:15

15The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people and took from them for their daily ration
Compare Vulgate; Hebrew  took from them with food and wine afterward
forty shekels
A  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, cbecause of the fear of God.

Nehemiah 5:18

18 dNow what was prepared at my expense
Or  prepared for me
for each day was one ox and six choice sheep and birds, and every ten days all kinds of wine in abundance. Yet for all this fI did not demand the food allowance of the governor, because the service was too heavy on this people.

1 Corinthians 9:18

9And when I was with you and was jin need, kI did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia lsupplied my need. So I refrained and will refrain mfrom burdening you in any way.

2 Corinthians 12:13-14

13For in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that nI myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!

14Here ofor the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be a burden, for pI seek not what is yours but you. For qchildren are not obligated to save up for their parents, but rparents for their children.
