Nehemiah 8:2-8

2So Ezra the priest abrought the Law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could understand what they heard, bon the first day of the seventh month. 3 cAnd he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law. 4And Ezra the scribe stood on a wooden platform that they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right hand, and Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam on his left hand. 5And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was above all the people, and as he opened it all the people stood. 6And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God, and all the people answered, dAmen, Amen,” elifting up their hands. fAnd they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground. 7 gAlso Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites,
Vulgate; Hebrew and the Levites
ihelped the people to understand the Law, jwhile the people remained in their places.
8They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly,
Or with interpretation, or paragraph by paragraph
and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.

Jeremiah 15:19

19 Therefore thus says the Lord:
l“If you return, I will restore you,
and you shall mstand before me.
If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless,
you shall be as my mouth.
They shall turn to you,
but you shall not turn to them.

Jeremiah 18:18

18Then they said, nCome, let us make plots against Jeremiah, ofor the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. pCome, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”

Haggai 2:11-13

11Thus says the Lord of hosts: qAsk the priests about the law: 12If someone carries rholy meat in the fold of his garment and touches with his fold bread or stew or wine or oil or any kind of food, does it become holy?’” The priests answered and said, sNo.” 13Then Haggai said, tIf someone who is unclean by contact with a dead body utouches any of these, does it become unclean?” The priests answered and said, “It does become unclean.”

2 Timothy 2:24-25
