Nehemiah 9:26

26 a“Nevertheless, they were disobedient and rebelled against you band cast your law behind their back cand killed your prophets, who dhad warned them in order to turn them back to you, eand they committed great blasphemies.

Psalms 106:35-41

35but they fmixed with the nations
and learned to do as they did.
36They served their idols,
which became ga snare to them.
37They hsacrificed their sons
and their daughters to ithe demons;
38they poured out innocent blood,
the blood of their sons and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and the land was jpolluted with blood.
39Thus they kbecame unclean by their acts,
and lplayed the whore in their deeds.
40 Then mthe anger of the Lord was kindled against nhis people,
and he abhorred his oheritage;
41he pgave them into the hand of the nations,
so that those who hated them ruled over them.

Ezekiel 23:2-16

2 qSon of man, there were rtwo women, the daughters of one mother. 3 sThey played the whore in Egypt; tthey played the whore uin their youth; there their breasts were pressed and their virgin bosoms
Hebrew nipples; also verses 8, 21
handled.
4Oholah was the name of the elder and Oholibah the name of her sister. wThey became mine, and they xbore sons and daughters. As for their names, Oholah is ySamaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.

5Oholah played the whore zwhile she was mine, and aashe lusted after her lovers abthe Assyrians, warriors 6clothed in purple, acgovernors and commanders, adall of them desirable young men, aehorsemen riding on horses. 7She bestowed her whoring upon them, the choicest men of Assyria all of them, and she defiled herself with all the idols of everyone after whom she lusted. 8She did not give up her whoring afthat she had begun in Egypt; for in her youth men had lain with her and handled her virgin bosom and poured out their whoring lust upon her. 9Therefore agI delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the Assyrians, after whom she lusted. 10 ahThese uncovered her nakedness; aithey seized her sons and her daughters; and as for her, they killed her with the sword; and she became aja byword among women, akwhen judgment had been executed on her.

11 al“Her sister Oholibah saw this, and she became ammore corrupt than her sister
Hebrew  than she
in her lust and in her whoring, which was worse than that of her sister.
12She lusted after the Assyrians, governors and commanders, warriors clothed in full armor, horsemen riding on horses, aoall of them desirable young men. 13And I saw that she was defiled; they both took the same way. 14But she carried her whoring further. She saw men apportrayed on the wall, the aqimages of arthe Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion, 15wearing belts on their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them having the appearance of officers, a likeness of Babylonians whose native land was Chaldea. 16When she saw them, she lusted after them and assent messengers to them atin Chaldea.

Hosea 4:1-3

The Lord Accuses Israel

1 auHear the word of the Lord, O children of Israel,
for avthe Lord has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land.
There is no faithfulness or steadfast love,
and awno knowledge of God in the land;
2 axthere is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery;
they break all bounds, and aybloodshed follows bloodshed.
3Therefore azthe land mourns,
and all who dwell in it languish,
baand also the beasts of the field
and the birds of the heavens,
bband even the fish of the sea are taken away.

Hosea 8:5-14

5 bcI have
Hebrew He has
spurned your calf, O Samaria.
My anger burns against them.
beHow long will they be incapable of innocence?
6For it is from Israel;
a craftsman made it;
it is not God.
bfThe calf of Samaria
bgshall be broken to pieces.
Or  shall go up in flames

7 For bithey sow the wind,
and they shall reap the whirlwind.
The standing grain has no heads;
it shall yield no flour;
if it were to yield,
bjstrangers would devour it.
8 bkIsrael is swallowed up;
already they are among the nations
as bla useless vessel.
9For bmthey have gone up to Assyria,
bna wild donkey wandering alone;
Ephraim has hired lovers.
10Though they hire allies among the nations,
I will soon gather them up.
And bothe king and princes bpshall soon writhe
because of the tribute.
11 Because Ephraim bqhas multiplied altars for sinning,
they have become to him altars for sinning.
12 brWere I to write for him my laws by the ten thousands,
they would be regarded as a strange thing.
13As for my sacrificial offerings,
bsthey sacrifice meat and eat it,
but the Lord does not accept them.
btNow he will remember their iniquity
and punish their sins;
buthey shall return to Egypt.
14For bvIsrael has forgotten bwhis Maker
and bxbuilt palaces,
and byJudah has multiplied fortified cities;
so bzI will send a fire upon his cities,
and it shall devour her strongholds.
