Nehemiah 9:29-30

29 aAnd you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet bthey acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, cwhich if a person does them, he shall live by them, dand they turned a stubborn shoulder eand stiffened their neck and would not obey. 30Many years fyou bore with them gand warned them hby your Spirit through your prophets. iYet they would not give ear. jTherefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

Nehemiah 13:15
