Numbers 11:25-29

25Then athe Lord came down in the cloud and spoke to him, and took some of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders. And as soon as the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied. But they did not continue doing it.

26Now two men remained in the camp, one named Eldad, and the other named Medad, and the Spirit rested on them. They were among those registered, but they bhad not gone out to the tent, and so they prophesied in the camp. 27And a young man ran and told Moses, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.” 28And cJoshua the son of Nun, the assistant of Moses from his youth, said, “My lord Moses, dstop them.” 29But Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? eWould that all the Lord’s people were prophets, that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”

1 Samuel 10:10-13

10When they came to fGibeah,
 Gibeah means the hill
behold, a group of prophets met him, hand the Spirit of God rushed upon him, and he prophesied among them.
11And when all who knew him previously saw how he prophesied with the prophets, the people said to one another, “What has come over the son of Kish? iIs Saul also among the prophets?” 12And a man of the place answered, j“And who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb, k“Is Saul also among the prophets?” 13When he had finished prophesying, he came to the high place.

1 Samuel 19:20-24

20Then Saul sent messengers to take David, and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, lthe Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, mand they also prophesied. 21When it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, nand they also prophesied. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, oand they also prophesied. 22Then he himself went to Ramah and came to the great well that is in Secu. And he asked, “Where are Samuel and David?” And one said, “Behold, they are at Naioth in pRamah.” 23And he went there to Naioth in Ramah. qAnd the Spirit of God came upon him also, and as he went he prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah. 24 rAnd he too stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay naked all that day and all that night. Thus it is said, s“Is Saul also among the prophets?”

1 Corinthians 13:2

2And if I have tprophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, uso as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

1 Corinthians 14:1

Prophecy and Tongues

1 vPursue love, and wearnestly desire the xspiritual gifts, especially that you may yprophesy.

1 Corinthians 14:3

3On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.

1 Corinthians 14:5

5Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but zeven more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

1 Corinthians 14:24

24But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,

1 Corinthians 14:31-32

31For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, 32and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.

1 Corinthians 14:39

39So, my brothers, aaearnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
