Numbers 11:26-29

26Now two men remained in the camp, one named Eldad, and the other named Medad, and the Spirit rested on them. They were among those registered, but they ahad not gone out to the tent, and so they prophesied in the camp. 27And a young man ran and told Moses, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.” 28And bJoshua the son of Nun, the assistant of Moses from his youth, said, “My lord Moses, cstop them.” 29But Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? dWould that all the Lord’s people were prophets, that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”

Ecclesiastes 4:4

4Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man’s envy of his neighbor. This also is evanity
The Hebrew term hebel can refer to a “vapor” or “mere breath”; also verses 7, 8, 16 (see note on 1:2)
and a striving after wind.

1 Corinthians 3:3-5

3for you are still of the flesh. For while there is gjealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4For hwhen one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” iare you not being merely human?

5What then is Apollos? What is Paul? jServants through whom you believed, kas the Lord assigned to each.

Galatians 5:20-21

Galatians 6:12-13

12 oIt is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh pwho would force you to be circumcised, and only qin order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

James 3:14-18

14But if you have bitter rjealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15This is not sthe wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, tdemonic. 16For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17But uthe wisdom from above is first pure, then vpeaceable, gentle, open to reason, wfull of mercy and good fruits, ximpartial and ysincere. 18And za harvest of righteousness aais sown in peace by those who make peace.
