4Now the arabble that was among them had a strong craving. And the people of Israel also bwept again and said, c“Oh that we had meat to eat!

Numbers 11:31-34

Quail and a Plague

31Then a dwind from the Lord sprang up, and it brought quail from the sea and let them fall beside the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and a day’s journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits
A  cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters
above the ground.
32And the people rose all that day and all night and all the next day, and gathered the quail. Those who gathered least gathered ten fhomers.
A  homer was about 6 bushels or 220 liters
And they spread them out for themselves all around the camp.
33 hWhile the meat was yet between their teeth, before it was consumed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and ithe Lord struck down the people with a very great plague. 34Therefore the name of that place was called jKibroth-hattaavah,
 Kibroth-hattaavah means graves of craving
because there they buried the people who had the craving.

Psalms 78:27-31

27he rained meat on them like ldust,
winged birds like mthe sand of the seas;
28he nlet them fall in the midst of their camp,
all around their dwellings.
29And they oate and were well filled,
for he gave them what they pcraved.
30But before they had satisfied their craving,
qwhile the food was still in their mouths,
31the anger of God rose against them,
and he killed rthe strongest of them
and laid low sthe young men of Israel.

Psalms 106:14-15

14But they had ta wanton craving in the wilderness,
and uput God to the test in the desert;
15he vgave them what they asked,
but sent wa wasting disease among them.
