Miriam and Aaron Oppose Moses

1 Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married, for he had married a Cushite woman. 2 And they said, “Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? ^aHas he not spoken through us also?” And ^bthe Lord heard it.

Numbers 14:1-4

The People Rebel

1 Then all the congregation raised a loud cry, and the people ^cwept that night. 2 And all the people of Israel ^dgrumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt!
