31 ^aThen the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.”

26 Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
so is the sluggard to those who send him.

17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble,
but ^ba faithful envoy brings healing.

13 Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest
is ^ca faithful messenger to those who send him;
he refreshes the soul of his masters.
