Numbers 14:32-34

32But as for you, ayour dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness. 33And your children bshall be shepherds in the wilderness cforty years and shall dsuffer for your faithlessness, until the last of your dead bodies lies in the wilderness. 34 eAccording to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, fforty days, a year for each day, you shall bear your iniquity forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.’

Deuteronomy 1:3

3 gIn the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses spoke to the people of Israel according to all that the Lord had given him in commandment to them,

Deuteronomy 2:7

7For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. hHe knows your going through this great wilderness. iThese forty years the Lord your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.”’

Deuteronomy 2:14

14And the time from our leaving jKadesh-barnea until we crossed kthe brook Zered was thirty-eight years, luntil the entire generation, that is, the men of war, had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn to them.

Deuteronomy 8:4

4 mYour clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years.

Psalms 95:10-11

10 nFor forty years I loathed that generation
and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart,
and they have not known omy ways.”
11Therefore I pswore in my wrath,
“They shall not enter qmy rest.”

Jeremiah 2:2
