Numbers 14:33-34

33And your children ashall be shepherds in the wilderness bforty years and shall csuffer for your faithlessness, until the last of your dead bodies lies in the wilderness. 34 dAccording to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, eforty days, a year for each day, you shall bear your iniquity forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.’

Numbers 32:13

13And the Lord’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them fwander in the wilderness forty years, until gall the generation that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was gone.

Hebrews 3:9-10

9where your fathers put me to the test

they have not known my ways.’

17And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, mwhose bodies fell in the wilderness?
