Numbers 16:40

40to be a reminder to the people of Israel, so athat no outsider, who is not of the descendants of Aaron, should draw near to burn incense before the Lord, lest he become like Korah and his company—as the Lord said to him through Moses.

Numbers 17:12-13

12And the people of Israel said to Moses, “Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone. 13 bEveryone who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of the Lord, shall die. Are we all to perish?”

Numbers 18:5

5And you shall ckeep guard over the sanctuary and over the altar, dthat there may never again be wrath on the people of Israel.

2 Chronicles 26:18-19

18and they withstood King Uzziah and said to him, e“It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, fbut for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have done wrong, and it will bring you no honor from the Lord God.” 19Then Uzziah was angry. Hebrews 7:11-15

Jesus Compared to Melchizedek

11 iNow if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron? 12For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law as well. 13For the one of whom these things are spoken belonged to another tribe, from which no one has ever served at the altar. 14For it is evident that our Lord was descended jfrom Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

15This becomes even more evident when another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek,
