Numbers 20:10

Moses Strikes the Rock

10Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, aHear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?”

Numbers 32:13-14

13And the Lord’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them bwander in the wilderness forty years, until call the generation that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was gone. 14And behold, you have risen in your fathersplace, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the Lord against Israel!

Deuteronomy 9:24

24 dYou have been rebellious against the Lord from the day that I knew you.

Deuteronomy 9:27

27Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Do not regard the stubbornness of this people, or their wickedness or their sin,

1 Samuel 8:7-8

7And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, efor they have not rejected you, fbut they have rejected me from being king over them. 8According to all the deeds that they have done, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you.

2 Kings 17:17-20

17 gAnd they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings
Or made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire
and used idivination and jomens and ksold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.
18Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but lthe tribe of Judah only.

19 mJudah also did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the customs that Israel had introduced. 20And the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them nand gave them into the hand of plunderers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

Ezekiel 20:18-30

18“And I said to otheir children in the wilderness, 'Do not walk pin the statutes of your fathers, nor keep their rules, qnor defile yourselves with their idols. 19 rI am the Lord your God; swalk in my statutes, and be careful to obey my rules, 20and tkeep my Sabbaths holy that uthey may be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.' 21 vBut the children wrebelled against me. xThey did not walk in my statutes and were not careful to obey my rules, by which, if a person does them, he shall live; they profaned my Sabbaths.

y“Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them and spend my anger against them in the wilderness.
22 zBut I withheld my hand aaand acted for the sake of my name, abthat it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out. 23 acMoreover, adI swore to them in the wilderness aethat I would scatter them among the nations and disperse them through the countries, 24because they had not obeyed my rules, but had rejected my statutes and profaned my Sabbaths, afand their eyes were set on their fathersidols. 25 agMoreover, I gave them statutes that were not good and rules by which they could not have life, 26and I defiled them through ahtheir very gifts aiin their offering up all their firstborn, that I might devastate them. I did it ajthat they might know that I am the Lord.

27Therefore, akson of man, speak to the house of Israel and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: In this also your fathers blasphemed me, by aldealing treacherously with me. 28For when I had brought them into the land that amI swore to give them, then wherever they saw anany high hill or any leafy tree, there they offered their sacrifices and there they presented aothe provocation of their offering; there they sent up their pleasing aromas, and there they poured out their drink offerings. 29(I said to them, ap'What is the high place to which you go?' So its name is called Bamah
 Bamah means high place
to this day.)

30Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: arWill you defile yourselves after the manner of your fathers and go aswhoring after their detestable things?
