Arad Destroyed

1When athe Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in bthe Negeb, heard that Israel was coming by the way of Atharim, he fought against Israel, and took some of them captive.

Numbers 21:22-24

22 c“Let me pass through your land. We will not turn aside into field or vineyard. We will not drink the water of a well. We will go by the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory.” 23 dBut Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his territory. He gathered all his people together and went out against Israel to the wilderness and ecame to Jahaz and fought against Israel. 24 fAnd Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the gJabbok, as far as to the Ammonites, for the border of the Ammonites was strong.

1“Then we turned and journeyed into the wilderness in the direction of the Red Sea, has the Lord told me. And for many days we traveled around Mount Seir. 2Then the Lord said to me, 3‘You have been traveling around this mountain country ilong enough. Turn northward 4and command the people, “You are about to pass through the territory of jyour brothers, the people of Esau, kwho live in Seir; and lthey will be afraid of you. So be very careful.

Deuteronomy 2:27

27 m‘Let me pass through your land. I will go only by the road; I will turn aside neither to the right nor to the left.

Deuteronomy 2:29

29 nas the sons of Esau who live in Seir and the Moabites who live in Ar did for me, until I go over the Jordan into the land that the Lord our God is giving to us.’
