Numbers 21:1-3

Arad Destroyed

1 When ^athe Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in ^bthe Negeb, heard that Israel was coming by the way of Atharim, he fought against Israel, and took some of them captive. 2 ^cAnd Israel vowed a vow to the Lord and said, “If you will indeed give this people into my hand, then I will devote their cities to destruction.” ^{▼▼That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); also verse 3} 3 And the Lord heeded the voice of Israel and gave over the Canaanites, and they devoted them and their cities to destruction. So the name of the place was called ^eHormah. ^{▼▼ Hormah means destruction}

1 Samuel 1:11

11 And she ^gvowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed ^hlook on the affliction of your servant and ⁱremember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, ^jand no razor shall touch his head.”

Psalms 66:13-14

13 I will come into your house with burnt offerings;
I will ^kperform my vows to you,
14 that which my lips uttered
and my mouth promised ^lwhen I was in trouble.

Jonah 1:16
