Numbers 21:2-3

2 aAnd Israel vowed a vow to the Lord and said, “If you will indeed give this people into my hand, then I will devote their cities to destruction.”
That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); also verse 3
3And the Lord heeded the voice of Israel and gave over the Canaanites, and they devoted them and their cities to destruction. So the name of the place was called cHormah.
 Hormah means destruction


Numbers 21:35

35So they defeated him and his sons and all his people, until he had no survivor left. And they possessed his land.

Numbers 33:52

52then eyou shall drive out fall the inhabitants of the land from before you and destroy all their gfigured stones and destroy all their metal images and demolish all their high places.

Deuteronomy 7:1-4

A Chosen People

1“When the hLord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you, ithe Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations jmore numerous and mightier than you, 2 kand when the Lord your God gives them over to you, and you defeat them, then you must ldevote them to complete destruction.
That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
nYou shall make no covenant with them and show no mercy to them.
3 oYou shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons, 4for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods. pThen the anger of the Lord would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you qquickly.

Deuteronomy 7:16

16And ryou shall consume all the peoples that the Lord your God will give over to you. sYour eye shall not pity them, neither shall you serve their gods, for that would be ta snare to you.

Joshua 6:17-21

17And the city and all that is within it shall be udevoted to the Lord for destruction.

Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she whid the messengers whom we sent.

As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and zthe wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city. 21Then they aadevoted all in the city to destruction, both men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep, and donkeys, with the edge of the sword.

Joshua 9:24

24They answered Joshua, “Because it was told to your servants for a certainty that the Lord your God had abcommanded his servant Moses to give you all the land and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you—so acwe feared greatly for our lives because of you and did this thing.

Joshua 9:27

27But Joshua made them that day adcutters of wood and drawers of water for the congregation and for the altar of the Lord, to this day, aein the place that he should choose.

Joshua 10:28

28As for afMakkedah, Joshua captured it on that day and struck it, and its king, with the edge of the sword. He devoted to destruction every person in it; he left none remaining. And he did to the king of Makkedah agjust as he had done to the king of Jericho.

Joshua 10:40

40So Joshua struck the whole land, the hill country and the Negeb and the lowland ahand the slopes, and all their kings. He left none remaining, aibut devoted to destruction all that breathed, just as the Lord God of Israel commanded.
