Numbers 21:23-30

23 aBut Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his territory. He gathered all his people together and went out against Israel to the wilderness and bcame to Jahaz and fought against Israel. 24 cAnd Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the dJabbok, as far as to the Ammonites, for the border of the Ammonites was strong. 25And Israel took all these cities, and Israel settled in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its villages. 26For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land out of his hand, as far as the Arnon. 27Therefore the eballad singers say,

Come to fHeshbon, let it be built;
let the city of Sihon be established.
28For gfire came out from hHeshbon,
flame from the city of Sihon.
It devoured iAr of Moab,
and swallowed
Septuagint; Hebrew the lords of
the heights of the Arnon.
29 kWoe to you, O Moab!
You are undone, O people of lChemosh!
He has made his sons fugitives,
and his daughters captives,
to an Amorite king, Sihon.
30So we overthrew them;
Heshbon, as far as mDibon, perished;
and we laid waste as far as Nophah;
fire spread as far as nMedeba.”
Compare Samaritan and Septuagint; Hebrew  and we laid waste as far as Nophah, which is as far as Medeba

Deuteronomy 2:24-37

24‘Rise up, set out on your journey and pgo over the Valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of qHeshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession, and rcontend with him in battle. 25This day I will begin to put sthe dread and fear of you on the peoples who are under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.’

The Defeat of King Sihon

26“So I sent messengers from the wilderness of tKedemoth to Sihon the king of uHeshbon, vwith words of peace, saying, 27 w‘Let me pass through your land. I will go only by the road; I will turn aside neither to the right nor to the left. 28 xYou shall sell me food for money, that I may eat, and give me water for money, that I may drink. Only let me pass through on foot, 29 yas the sons of Esau who live in Seir and the Moabites who live in Ar did for me, until I go over the Jordan into the land that the Lord our God is giving to us.’ 30But zSihon the king of aaHeshbon would not let us pass by him, for the Lord your God abhardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might give him into your hand, as he is this day. 31And the Lord said to me, ‘Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land over to you. Begin to take possession, that you may occupy his land.’ 32Then acSihon came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Jahaz. 33And adthe Lord our God gave him over to us, and aewe defeated him and his sons and all his people. 34And we captured all his cities at that time and devoted to destruction
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
every agcity, men, women, and children. We left no survivors.
35Only the livestock we took as spoil for ourselves, with the plunder of the cities that we captured. 36 ahFrom Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and from aithe city that is in the valley, as far as Gilead, there was not a city too high for us. ajThe Lord our God gave all into our hands. 37Only to the land of the sons of Ammon you did not draw near, that is, to all the banks of the river akJabbok and the cities of the hill country, whatever the Lord our God had forbidden us.

Deuteronomy 3:6-17

6And alwe devoted them to destruction,
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); twice in this verse
as we did to Sihon the king of Heshbon, devoting to destruction every ancity, men, women, and children.
7But all the livestock and the spoil of the cities we took as our plunder. 8So we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon 9(the Sidonians call aoHermon apSirion, while the Amorites call it aqSenir), 10all the cities of the artableland and all Gilead and all Bashan, as far as asSalecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 11(For atonly Og the king of Bashan was left of the remnant of authe Rephaim. Behold, his bed was a bed of iron. Is it not in avRabbah of the Ammonites? Nine cubits
A  cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters
was its length, and four cubits its breadth, according to the axcommon cubit.

12“When we took possession of this land at that time, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites the territory beginning azat Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead with baits cities. 13 bbThe rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, that is, bcall the region of Argob, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh. (All that portion of Bashan is called the land of bdRephaim. 14 beJair the Manassite took all the region of Argob, that is, Bashan, as far as the border of bfthe Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called the villages bgafter his own name, Havvoth-jair, as it is to this day.) 15To Machir bhI gave Gilead, 16and to the Reubenites biand the Gadites I gave the territory from Gilead as far as the Valley of the Arnon, with the middle of the valley as a border, as far over as the river Jabbok, bjthe border of the Ammonites; 17the Arabah also, with the Jordan as the border, from bkChinnereth as far as blthe Sea of the Arabah, bmthe Salt Sea, under bnthe slopes of Pisgah on the east.

Nehemiah 9:22

22“And you gave them kingdoms and peoples and allotted to them every corner. boSo they took possession of the land of Sihon king of Heshbon bpand the land of Og king of Bashan.
