24 ^aAnd Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the ^bJabbok, as far as to the Ammonites, for the border of the Ammonites was strong. 25 And Israel took all these cities, and Israel settled in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its villages.

Deuteronomy 2:33-34

33 And ^cthe Lord our God gave him over to us, and ^dwe defeated him and his sons and all his people. 34 And we captured all his cities at that time and devoted to destruction ^{▼▼That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)} every ^fcity, men, women, and children.
