Numbers 23:7-8

7And Balaam atook up his discourse and said,

“From bAram Balak has brought me,
the king of Moab cfrom the eastern mountains:
Come, dcurse Jacob for me,
and come, denounce Israel!’
8How can I curse whom God has not cursed?
How can I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?

1 Samuel 17:25-26

25And the men of Israel said, “Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to edefy Israel. And the king will enrich the man who kills him with great riches fand will give him his daughter and make his father’s house free in Israel.” 26And David said to the men who stood by him, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away gthe reproach from Israel? For who is this huncircumcised Philistine, that he should idefy the armies of jthe living God?”

1 Samuel 17:36

36Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, kfor he has defied the armies of the living God.”

1 Samuel 17:45

45Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with la javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, mwhom you have defied.

2 Samuel 23:9

9And next to him among the three mighty men was Eleazar the son of oDodo, son of pAhohi. He was with David when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there for battle, and the men of Israel withdrew.

Nehemiah 2:19
