Numbers 24:15-16

Balaam’s Final Oracle

15 ^aAnd he took up his discourse and said,

“The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor,
the oracle of the man whose eye is opened,
16 the oracle of him who hears the words of God,
and knows the knowledge of ^bthe Most High,
who sees the vision of the Almighty,
^cfalling down with his eyes uncovered:

12 So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.

15 ^dSome indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will.

2 Peter 2:15-19

15 Forsaking the right way, ^ethey have gone astray. They have followed ^fthe way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved ^ggain from wrongdoing, 16 but was rebuked for his own transgression; ^ha speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

17 ⁱThese are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. ^jFor them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. 18 For, ^kspeaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely ^lescaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them ^mfreedom, ⁿbut they themselves are slaves ^{▼▼Greek bondservants} of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.
