Baal Worship at Peor

1While Israel lived in aShittim, bthe people began to whore with the daughters of Moab. 2 cThese invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3So Israel yoked himself to Baal of Peor. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.

Judges 3:6-7

6 dAnd their daughters they took to themselves for wives, and their own daughters they gave to their sons, and they served their gods.

7 eAnd the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. They forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and fthe Asheroth.

1 Kings 16:31-33

31And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, ghe took for his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the hSidonians, iand went and served Baal and worshiped him. 32He erected an altar for Baal in jthe house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. 33And Ahab made an kAsherah. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger lthan all the kings of Israel who were before him.

2 Chronicles 21:6

6 mAnd he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for nthe daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.
