Numbers 25:7-13

7 aWhen Phinehas bthe son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose and left the congregation and took a spear in his hand 8and went after the man of Israel into the chamber and pierced both of them, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly. Thus the plague on the people of Israel was stopped. 9Nevertheless, cthose who died by the plague were twenty-four thousand.

The Zeal of Phinehas

10And the Lord said to Moses, 11Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has turned back my wrath from the people of Israel, in that he dwas jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the people of Israel in emy jealousy. 12Therefore say, fBehold, I give to him my covenant of peace, 13and it shall be to him and to ghis descendants after him the covenant of ha perpetual priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the people of Israel.’”

Joshua 22:13

13Then the people of Israel sent to the people of Reuben and the people of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh, in the land of Gilead, iPhinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,

Joshua 22:30-32

30When jPhinehas the priest and the chiefs of the congregation, the heads of the families of Israel who were with him, heard the words that the people of Reuben and the people of Gad and the people of Manasseh spoke, kit was good in their eyes. 31And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said to the people of Reuben and the people of Gad and the people of Manasseh, “Today we know that lthe Lord is in our midst, because you have not committed this breach of faith against the Lord. Now you have delivered the people of Israel from the hand of the Lord.”

32Then Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the chiefs, returned from the people of Reuben and the people of Gad min the land of Gilead to the land of Canaan, to the people of Israel, and brought back word to them.

Joshua 24:33

33And Eleazar the son of Aaron died, and they buried him at Gibeah, the town of nPhinehas his son, which had been given him in othe hill country of Ephraim.
