Numbers 27:16-23

16“Let the Lord, athe God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation 17who bshall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be cas sheep that have no shepherd.” 18So the Lord said to Moses, “Take dJoshua the son of Nun, a man ein whom is the Spirit, and flay your hand on him. 19Make him stand before Eleazar the priest and all the congregation, and you shall gcommission him in their sight. 20You shall invest him with some of your authority, hthat all the congregation of the people of Israel may obey. 21And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him iby the judgment of the Urim before the Lord. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the people of Israel with him, the whole congregation.” 22And Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and made him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, 23and he laid his hands on him and jcommissioned him as the Lord directed through Moses.

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

7Then kMoses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, l“Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. 8It is the Lord mwho goes before you. He will be with you; nhe will not leave you or forsake you. oDo not fear or be dismayed.”

Deuteronomy 34:9

9And Joshua the son of Nun was full of pthe spirit of wisdom, for qMoses had laid his hands on him. So rthe people of Israel obeyed him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.

1 Chronicles 22:11-12

11Now, my son, sthe Lord be with you, so that you may succeed in building the house of the Lord your God, as he has spoken concerning you. 12 tOnly, may the Lord grant you discretion and understanding, that when he gives you charge over Israel you may keep the law of the Lord your God.

5And of vall my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he whas chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel. 6He said to me, ‘It is xSolomon your son who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. 7I will establish his kingdom yforever zif he continues strong in keeping my commandments and my rules, as he is today.’ 8Now therefore in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever.

David’s Charge to Solomon

9“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a aawhole heart and with a willing mind, abfor the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. acIf you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

Acts 20:25-29
