18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take ^aJoshua the son of Nun, a man ^bin whom is the Spirit, and ^clay your hand on him. 19 Make him stand before Eleazar the priest and all the congregation, and you shall ^dcommission him in their sight. 20 You shall invest him with some of your authority, ^ethat all the congregation of the people of Israel may obey. 21 And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him ^fby the judgment of the Urim before the Lord. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the people of Israel with him, the whole congregation.” 22 And Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and made him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, 23 and he laid his hands on him and ^gcommissioned him as the Lord directed through Moses.

Deuteronomy 3:28

28 But ^hcharge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over at the head of this people, and he shall put them in possession of the land that you shall see.’

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

7 Then ⁱMoses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, ^j“Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. 8 It is the Lord ^kwho goes before you. He will be with you; ^lhe will not leave you or forsake you. ^mDo not fear or be dismayed.”

Deuteronomy 31:14

Joshua Commissioned to Lead Israel

14 And the Lord said to Moses, ⁿ“Behold, the days approach when you must die. Call Joshua and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that ^oI may commission him.” And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tent of meeting.

Deuteronomy 31:23

23 ^pAnd the Lord ^{▼▼Hebrew he} commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, ^r“Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. ^sI will be with you.”

Joshua 1:6-9

6 ^vBe strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and ^wvery courageous, being careful to do according to all the law ^xthat Moses my servant commanded you. ^yDo not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success ^{▼▼Or may act wisely} wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but ^aayou shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? ^abBe strong and courageous. ^acDo not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
