Numbers 3:6-7
6 a“Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him. 7They shall keep guard over him and over the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, bas they minister at the tabernacle.Numbers 3:32
32And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest was to be chief over the chiefs of the Levites, and to have oversight of those who kept guard over the sanctuary.Numbers 8:9
9 cAnd you shall bring the Levites before the tent of meeting dand assemble the whole congregation of the people of Israel.1 Chronicles 24:3-5
3With the help of eZadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, David organized them according to the appointed duties in their service. 4Since more chief men were found among the sons of Eleazar than among the sons of Ithamar, they organized them under sixteen heads of fathers’ houses of the sons of Eleazar, and eight of the sons of Ithamar. 5They divided them fby lot, all alike, for there were sacred officers and officers of God among both the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar.
