Numbers 3:7-8

7They shall keep guard over him and over the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, aas they minister at the tabernacle. 8They shall guard all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, and keep guard over the people of Israel as they minister at the tabernacle.

25And the bguard duty of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting involved cthe tabernacle, dthe tent with eits covering, fthe screen for the entrance of the tent of meeting,

Numbers 3:31

31And their guard duty involved gthe ark, hthe table, ithe lampstand, jthe altars, the vessels of the sanctuary with which the priests minister, and kthe screen; all the service connected with these.

Numbers 3:36-39

36 lAnd the appointed guard duty of the sons of Merari involved the mframes of the tabernacle, nthe bars, othe pillars, the bases, and all their accessories; all the service connected with these; 37also pthe pillars around the court, with their bases and qpegs and rcords.

38Those who were to camp before the tabernacle on the east, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrise, were Moses and Aaron and his sons, sguarding the sanctuary itself, to protect

Numbers 18:1-5

Duties of Priests and Levites

1So the Lord said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house with you shall vbear iniquity connected with the sanctuary, wand you and your sons with you shall bear iniquity connected with your priesthood. 2And with you bring your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may xjoin you and yminister to you while you and your sons with you are before the tent of the testimony. 3They shall keep guard over you and zover the whole tent, aabut shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary or to the altar ablest they, and you, die. 4They shall join you and keep guard over the tent of meeting for all the service of the tent, acand no outsider shall come near you. 5And you shall adkeep guard over the sanctuary and over the altar, aethat there may never again be wrath on the people of Israel.

Numbers 18:23

23But afthe Levites shall do the service of the tent of meeting, agand they shall bear their iniquity. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, and among the people of Israel they shall have no inheritance.

1 Chronicles 9:27-29

27And they lodged around the house of God, for on them lay the duty of watching, and ahthey had charge of opening it every morning.

28Some of them had charge of the utensils of service, for they were required to count them when they were brought in and taken out. 29Others of them were appointed over the furniture and over all the holy utensils, also over the aifine flour, the wine, the oil, the incense, and the spices.

1 Chronicles 23:32

32Thus ajthey were to keep charge of the tent of meeting and the sanctuary, and to attend the sons of Aaron, their brothers, for the akservice of the house of the Lord.

Treasurers and Other Officials

20And of the Levites, Ahijah had charge of althe treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of the dedicated gifts. 21The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’ houses belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: amJehieli.

22 aoThe sons of Jehieli, Zetham, and Joel his brother, were in charge of the treasuries of the house of the Lord. 23 apOf the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites 24and aqShebuel the son of Gershom, son of Moses, was chief officer in charge of the treasuries. 25His brothers: from arEliezer were his son Rehabiah, and his son asJeshaiah, and his son Joram, and his son Zichri, and his son atShelomoth. 26This Shelomoth and his brothers were in charge of all the treasuries of the dedicated gifts that David the king and the heads of the fathers’ houses and the officers of the thousands and the hundreds and the commanders of the army auhad dedicated. 27From spoil won in battles they dedicated gifts for the maintenance of the house of the Lord.
