Numbers 32:13-14

13 And the Lord’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them ^awander in the wilderness forty years, until ^ball the generation that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was gone. 14 And behold, you have risen in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the Lord against Israel!

Joshua 22:17-18

17 Have we not had enough of ^cthe sin at Peor from which even yet we have not cleansed ourselves, and for which there came a plague upon the congregation of the Lord, 18 that you too must turn away this day from following the Lord?
