Numbers 32:33-42

33And aMoses gave to them, to the people of Gad and to the people of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land and its cities with their territories, the cities of the land throughout the country. 34And the people of Gad built bDibon, cAtaroth, dAroer, 35Atroth-shophan, eJazer, Jogbehah, 36 fBeth-nimrah and Beth-haran, gfortified cities, and folds for sheep. 37And the people of Reuben built hHeshbon, iElealeh, Kiriathaim, 38 jNebo, and kBaal-meon ( ltheir names were changed), and mSibmah. And they gave other names to the cities that they built. 39And the sons of nMachir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and captured it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it. 40And Moses ogave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he settled in it. 41And pJair the son of Manasseh went and captured their villages, and called them Havvoth-jair.
 Havvoth-jair means the villages of Jair
42And Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.

Deuteronomy 3:16-17

16and to the Reubenites rand the Gadites I gave the territory from Gilead as far as the Valley of the Arnon, with the middle of the valley as a border, as far over as the river Jabbok, sthe border of the Ammonites; 17the Arabah also, with the Jordan as the border, from tChinnereth as far as uthe Sea of the Arabah, vthe Salt Sea, under wthe slopes of Pisgah on the east.
