Philippians 3:12-21

Straining Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already ^aobtained this or ^bam already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: ^cforgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for ^dthe prize of the upward ^ecall of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are ^fmature think this way, and if in anything ^gyou think otherwise, ^hGod will reveal that also to you. 16 Only ⁱlet us hold true to what we have attained.

17 Brothers, ^jjoin in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk ^kaccording to the example you have in us. 18 For ^lmany, of whom I have often told you and now tell you ^meven with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 ⁿTheir end is destruction, ^otheir god is their belly, and ^pthey glory in their shame, with ^qminds set on earthly things. 20 But ^rour citizenship is in heaven, and ^sfrom it we ^tawait a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform ^uour lowly body ^vto be like his glorious body, ^wby the power that enables him even ^xto subject all things to himself.

Colossians 1:12

Revelation of John 7:14-17

14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of ^acthe great tribulation. ^adThey have washed their robes and ^aemade them white ^afin the blood of the Lamb.

15 “Therefore they are before the throne of God,
and ^agserve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne ^ahwill shelter them with his presence.
16 ^aiThey shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
^ajthe sun shall not strike them,
nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne ^akwill be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of ^alliving water,
and ^amGod will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
