Proverbs 1:19

19 aSuch are the ways of everyone who is bgreedy for unjust gain;
cit takes away the life of its possessors.

Ecclesiastes 4:8

8one person who has no other, either son or brother, yet there is no end to all his toil, and his deyes are never satisfied with riches, so that he never asks, e“For whom am I toiling and depriving myself of pleasure?” This also is vanity and an unhappy fbusiness.

Habakkuk 2:5

5 Moreover, wine

The meaning of the Hebrew of these two lines is uncertain

His greed is as wide as Sheol;
like death jhe has never enough.
kHe gathers for himself all nations
and collects as his own all peoples.”

1 Timothy 6:9-10

9But lthose who desire to be rich fall into temptation, minto a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that nplunge people into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of oall kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

James 5:1-5

Warning to the Rich

1Come now, pyou rich, weep and howl for the qmiseries that are coming upon you. 2 rYour riches have rotted and syour garments are moth-eaten. 3Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. tYou have laid up treasure uin the last days. 4Behold, vthe wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and wthe cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of xthe Lord of hosts. 5 yYou have lived on the earth in luxury and zin self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in aaa day of slaughter.
