Proverbs 1:24-28

24 aBecause I have called and byou refused to listen,
have cstretched out my hand and no one has heeded,
25because you have dignored all my counsel
and ewould have none of my reproof,
26I also fwill laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when gterror strikes you,
27when terror strikes you like ha storm
and your calamity comes like a whirlwind,
when distress and anguish come upon you.
28 iThen they will call upon me, but I will not answer;
they will seek me diligently but will not find me.

but lknowledge is easy for a man of understanding.

15The toil of a fool wearies him,
for he does not know nthe way to the city.

Isaiah 1:15

15When you ospread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
peven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
qyour hands are full of blood.

Isaiah 58:2-4

and delight to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that did righteousness

they ask of me righteous judgments;
they delight to draw near to God.
3 sWhy have we fasted, and you see it not?
Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’
Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure,
Or pursue your own business

uand oppress all your workers.
4Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight
and to hit with a wicked fist.
Fasting like yours this day
will not make your voice to be heard on high.

Ezekiel 33:31
