Proverbs 1:24-32

24 aBecause I have called and byou refused to listen,
have cstretched out my hand and no one has heeded,
25because you have dignored all my counsel
and ewould have none of my reproof,
26I also fwill laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when gterror strikes you,
27when terror strikes you like ha storm
and your calamity comes like a whirlwind,
when distress and anguish come upon you.
28 iThen they will call upon me, but I will not answer;
they will seek me diligently but will not find me.
29Because they jhated knowledge
and kdid not choose the fear of the Lord,
30 lwould have none of my counsel
and mdespised all my reproof,
31therefore they shall eat nthe fruit of their way,
and have otheir fill of their own devices.
32For the simple are killed by ptheir turning away,
and qthe complacency of fools destroys them;

Proverbs 5:12

12and you say, rHow I hated discipline,
and my heart sdespised reproof!

Isaiah 5:24

24 Therefore, tas the tongue of fire devours the stubble,
and as dry grass sinks down in the flame,
so utheir root will be vas rottenness,

and have xdespised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 28:14-22

A Cornerstone in Zion

14 Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you yscoffers,
who rule this people in Jerusalem!
15Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death,
and with Sheol we have an agreement,
when the zoverwhelming whip passes through
it will not come to us,
for we have made aalies our refuge,
and in falsehood we have taken shelter”;
16therefore thus says the Lord God,
abBehold, I am the one who has laid
Dead Sea Scroll  I am laying
as a foundation adin Zion,
a stone, a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation:
‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’
17And I will make justice aethe line,
and righteousness afthe plumb line;
and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
and waters will overwhelm the shelter.”
18Then agyour covenant with death will be annulled,
and your agreement with Sheol will not stand;
when the overwhelming scourge passes through,
you will be beaten down by it.
19As often as it passes through it will take you;
ahfor morning by morning it will pass through,
by day and by night;
and it will be aisheer terror to understand the message.
20For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on,
and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in.
21For the Lord will rise up ajas on Mount Perazim;
akas in the Valley of alGibeon he will be roused;
to do his deedstrange is his deed!
and to work his workalien is his work!
22Now therefore do not amscoff,
lest your bonds be made strong;
for I have heard ana decree of destruction
from the Lord God of hosts against the whole land.

Hebrews 10:28-30

28 baAnyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy bbon the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one bcwho has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned bdthe blood of the covenant beby which he was sanctified, and has bfoutraged the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, bgVengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, bh“The Lord will judge his people.”
