Proverbs 11:11

11By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,
but aby the mouth of the wicked bit is overthrown.

Isaiah 28:14-22

A Cornerstone in Zion

14 Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you cscoffers,
who rule this people in Jerusalem!
15Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death,
and with Sheol we have an agreement,
when the doverwhelming whip passes through
it will not come to us,
for we have made elies our refuge,
and in falsehood we have taken shelter”;
16therefore thus says the Lord God,
fBehold, I am the one who has laid
Dead Sea Scroll  I am laying
as a foundation hin Zion,
a stone, a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation:
‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’
17And I will make justice ithe line,
and righteousness jthe plumb line;
and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
and waters will overwhelm the shelter.”
18Then kyour covenant with death will be annulled,
and your agreement with Sheol will not stand;
when the overwhelming scourge passes through,
you will be beaten down by it.
19As often as it passes through it will take you;
lfor morning by morning it will pass through,
by day and by night;
and it will be msheer terror to understand the message.
20For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on,
and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in.
21For the Lord will rise up nas on Mount Perazim;
oas in the Valley of pGibeon he will be roused;
to do his deedstrange is his deed!
and to work his workalien is his work!
22Now therefore do not qscoff,
lest your bonds be made strong;
for I have heard ra decree of destruction
from the Lord God of hosts against the whole land.

Matthew 27:39-43

39And sthose who passed by tderided him, uwagging their heads 40and saying, v“You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! wIf you are xthe Son of God, come down from the cross.” 41So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him, saying, 42 y“He saved others; zhe cannot save himself. aaHe is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. 43 abHe trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

John 9:40-41

40Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, acAre we also blind?” 41Jesus said to them, If you were blind, adyou would have no guilt;
Greek  you would not have sin
but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.

John 11:47-50

47So the chief priests and the Pharisees afgathered agthe council and said, ahWhat are we to do? For this man performs many signs. 48If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and aithe Romans will come and take away both our ajplace and our nation.” 49But one of them, akCaiaphas, alwho was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all. 50Nor do you understand that amit is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish.”
