Proverbs 11:4

4 aRiches do not profit in the day of wrath,
bbut righteousness delivers from death.

Ezekiel 26:12

12They will plunder cyour riches and loot dyour merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. Your stones and timber and esoil they will cast into the midst of the waters.

Ezekiel 27:12

12 lTarshish did mbusiness with you because of your great wealth of every kind; silver, iron, tin, and lead they exchanged for your nwares.

Ezekiel 27:18-19

18 oDamascus did business with you for your abundant goods, because of your great wealth of every kind; wine of Helbon and pwool of Sahar 19and casks of wine

from Uzal they exchanged for your wares; wrought iron, rcassia, and scalamus were bartered for your merchandise.

Ezekiel 27:22

22The traders of tSheba and uRaamah traded with you; they exchanged vfor your wares wthe best of all kinds of spices and all precious stones and gold.

Ezekiel 27:24

24In your market these traded with you in choice garments, in clothes of xblue and yembroidered work, and in carpets of colored material, bound with cords and made secure.

Ezekiel 27:34

34Now zyou are wrecked by the seas,
in the depths of the waters;
your merchandise and all your crew in your midst
have sunk with you.

Revelation of John 18:11-24

11And aathe merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, 12cargo of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, all kinds of articles of ivory, all kinds of articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, 13cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls.

And ahall shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off
18and aicried out ajas they saw the smoke of her burning,

akWhat city was like the great city?”
19And they threw aldust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out,

Alas, alas, for the great city
amwhere all who had ships at sea
grew rich by her wealth!
For anin a single hour she has been laid waste.
20 aoRejoice over her, O heaven,
and you saints and apapostles and prophets,
for aqGod has given judgment for you against her!”
21Then ara mighty angel astook up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying,

So will Babylon atthe great city be thrown down with violence,
and will be found no more;
22and authe sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters,
will be heard in you no more,
and a craftsman of any craft
will be found in you no more,
and avthe sound of the mill
will be heard in you no more,
23and the light of a lamp
will shine in you no more,
and awthe voice of bridegroom and bride
will be heard in you no more,
for axyour merchants were the great ones of the earth,
and all nations were deceived ayby your sorcery.
24And azin her was found the blood of prophets and of saints,
and of baall who have been slain on earth.”
