32 ^aThe wicked is overthrown through his evildoing,
but ^bthe righteous finds refuge in his death.

Ezekiel 18:20

20 ^cThe soul who sins shall die. ^dThe son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. ^eThe righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, ^fand the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

Ezekiel 18:24

24 ^gBut when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? ^hNone of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for ⁱthe treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.

Ezekiel 33:8-9

8 ^jIf I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, ^kand you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, ^lthat wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 9 ^mBut if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, ⁿthat person shall die in his iniquity, ^obut you will have delivered your soul.

John 8:21-24

21 So he said to them again, ^p“I am going away, and ^qyou will seek me, and ^ryou will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.” 22 So the Jews said, ^s“Will he kill himself, since he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?” 23 He said to them, ^t“You are from below; I am from above. ^uYou are of this world; ^vI am not of this world. 24 I told you that you ^wwould die in your sins, for ^xunless you believe that ^yI am he you will die in your sins.”
