Isaiah 1:11-15

11 iWhat to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 “When you come to jappear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
kNew moon and Sabbath and the lcalling of convocations
I cannot endure miniquity and nsolemn assembly.
14Your onew moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15When you pspread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
qeven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
ryour hands are full of blood.

Haggai 1:4-11

4 s“Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while tthis house lies in ruins? 5Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: uConsider your ways. 6 vYou have sown much, and harvested little. wYou eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who xearns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.

7Thus says the Lord of hosts: yConsider your ways. 8Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that zI may take pleasure in it and that aaI may be glorified, says the Lord. 9 abYou looked for much, and behold, it came to little. And when you brought it home, acI blew it away. Why? declares the Lord of hosts. Because of my house adthat lies in ruins, while each of you busies himself with his own house. 10Therefore aethe heavens above you have withheld the dew, and the earth has withheld its produce. 11And afI have called for a drought on the land and the hills, on agthe grain, the new wine, the oil, on what the ground brings forth, on man and beast, and ahon all their labors.”
