9 ^aThe heart of man plans his way,
but ^bthe Lord establishes his steps.

Proverbs 23:29-33

29 ^cWho has woe? Who has sorrow?
Who has strife? Who has complaining?
Who has ^dwounds without cause?
Who has ^eredness of eyes?
30 Those who ^ftarry long over wine;
those who go to try ^gmixed wine.
31 Do not look at wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup
and goes down smoothly.
32 In the end it ^hbites like a serpent
and stings like an adder.
33 Your eyes will see strange things,
and your heart utter ⁱperverse things.

Mark 6:21-22

21 But an opportunity came when Herod ^jon his birthday ^kgave a banquet for his nobles and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee. 22 For when Herodias’s daughter came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests.
