Proverbs 17:16

16Why should a fool have money in his hand ato buy wisdom
when he has no sense?

Isaiah 28:9-13

9 b“To whom will he teach knowledge,
and to whom will he explain the message?
Those who are weaned from the milk,
those taken from the breast?
10For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little.”
11 cFor by people of strange lips
and with a foreign tongue
the Lord will speak to this people,
12to whom he has said,
dThis is rest;
give rest to the weary;
and this is repose”;
yet they would not hear.
13And the word of the Lord will be to them
precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little,
ethat they may go, and fall backward,
and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Isaiah 29:11-12

11And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is fsealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” 12And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”

Jeremiah 5:3-5

3O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth?
gYou have struck them down,
but they felt no anguish;
you have consumed them,
but they refused to take correction.
hThey have made their faces harder than rock;
they have refused to repent.
4 Then I said, “These are only the poor;
they have no sense;
ifor they do not know the way of the Lord,
the justice of their God.
5I will go to the great
and will speak to them,
for they know the way of the Lord,
the justice of their God.”
jBut they all alike had broken the yoke;
they had burst the bonds.
