Proverbs 2:1-5

The Value of Wisdom

1 aMy son, bif you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
2making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
3yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice cfor understanding,
4if you seek it like dsilver
and search for it as for ehidden treasures,
5then fyou will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.

Warning Against Adultery

1 gMy son, be attentive to my wisdom;
hincline your ear to my understanding,

4Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
and call insight your intimate friend,

and do not neglect it.

watching daily at my gates,
waiting beside my doors.

36but he who fails to find me pinjures himself;

that you may gain wisdom in sthe future.
