Proverbs 22:6

6 aTrain up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:15

15Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
but bthe rod of discipline drives it far from him.

Proverbs 23:13-14

13Do not withhold cdiscipline from a child;
dif you strike him with a rod, he will not die.
14If you strike him with the rod,
you will esave his soul from Sheol.

Proverbs 29:17

17 fDiscipline your son, and he will give you rest;
he will give delight to your heart.

Proverbs 29:21

21Whoever pampers his servant from childhood
will in the end find him his heir.
The meaning of the Hebrew word rendered  his heir is uncertain

Hebrews 12:10-11

10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, hthat we may share his holiness. 11 iFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields jthe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
