Proverbs 23:5

5When your eyes light on it, it is gone,
afor suddenly it sprouts wings,
flying like an eagle toward heaven.

Ecclesiastes 4:8

8one person who has no other, either son or brother, yet there is no end to all his toil, and his beyes are never satisfied with riches, so that he never asks, c“For whom am I toiling and depriving myself of pleasure?” This also is vanity and an unhappy dbusiness.

Ecclesiastes 5:10-16

10He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity. 11When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes? 12Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep.

13 eThere is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt, 14and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand. 15 fAs he came from his mother’s womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand. 16This also is a grievous evil: just as he came, so shall he go, and what ggain is there to him who htoils for the wind?

1 Timothy 6:9-10

9But ithose who desire to be rich fall into temptation, jinto a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that kplunge people into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of lall kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

1 Timothy 6:17

17As for the rich in mthis present age, charge them nnot to be haughty, nor oto set their hopes on pthe uncertainty of riches, but on God, qwho richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
