That is,  profit that comes from charging interest to the poor

cgathers it for him who is dgenerous to the poor.

Proverbs 28:27

27Whoever egives to the poor will not want,
but he who fhides his eyes will get many a curse.

Isaiah 58:7-11

7Is it not gto share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
hand not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 iThen shall your light break forth like the dawn,
jand your healing shall spring up speedily;
kyour righteousness shall go before you;
lthe glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you take away mthe yoke from your midst,
nthe pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 oif you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
pthen shall your light rise in the darkness
and your gloom be as the noonday.
11And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be qlike a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail.

Matthew 25:34-46

34Then rthe King will say to sthose on his right, ‘Come, you twho are blessed by my Father, uinherit vthe kingdom wprepared for you xfrom the foundation of the world. 35For yI was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you zgave me drink, aaI was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 abI was naked and you clothed me, acI was sick and you advisited me, aeI was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And afthe King will answer them, agTruly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these ahmy brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters
you did it to me.’

41Then he will say to those on his left, ajDepart from me, you akcursed, into althe eternal fire prepared for amthe devil and his angels. 42For anI was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, aoyou did not do it to me.’ 46And these will go away apinto eternal punishment, but the righteous aqinto areternal life.”

Luke 3:11

11And he answered them, as“Whoever has two tunics
Greek chiton, a long garment worn under the cloak next to the skin
is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

2 Corinthians 8:7-9

7But as auyou excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you
Some manuscripts  in your love for us
awsee that you excel in this act of grace also.

8 axI say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. 9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that aythough he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

2 Corinthians 9:6-14

The Cheerful Giver

6The point is this: azwhoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully
Greek with blessings; twice in this verse
will also reap bountifully.
7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, bbnot reluctantly or under compulsion, for bcGod loves a cheerful giver. 8And bdGod is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency
Or  all contentment
in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
9As it is written,

bf“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.”
10He who supplies bgseed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and bhincrease the harvest of your righteousness. 11 biYou will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which bjthrough us will produce thanksgiving to God. 12For the ministry of this service is not only supplying bkthe needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. 13By their approval of this service, blthey
Or you
will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your bnconfession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others,
14while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.
