Proverbs 28:8

8Whoever multiplies his wealth aby interest and profit
That is,  profit that comes from charging interest to the poor

cgathers it for him who is dgenerous to the poor.

Isaiah 33:15

15 eHe who walks righteously and speaks uprightly,
who despises the gain of oppressions,
who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe,
who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed
fand shuts his eyes from looking on evil,

Jeremiah 5:26-27

26For wicked men are found among my people;

iThey set a trap;
they catch men.
27Like a cage full of birds,
their houses are full of deceit;
therefore they have become great and rich;

Judgment on Israel

6Thus says the Lord:

u“For three transgressions of Israel,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because vthey sell the righteous for wsilver,
and the needy for a pair of sandals
7those who trample the head of the poor xinto the dust of the earth
and yturn aside the way of the afflicted;
za man and his father go in to the same girl,
so that my holy name is profaned;
8they lay themselves down beside every altar
on garments aataken in pledge,
and in the house of their God they drink
the wine of those who have been fined.

Amos 3:10

10“They do not know how to do right,” declares the Lord,
ab“those who store up violence and robbery in their strongholds.”

Amos 8:4-6

4 Hear this, acyou who trample on the needy
and bring the poor of the land to an end,
5saying, “When will adthe new moon be over,
that we may sell grain?

that we may offer wheat for sale,
that we may make afthe ephah small and the shekel
An  ephah was about 3/5 bushel or 22 liters; a  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
great
and deal deceitfully with false balances,
6that we may buy the poor for ahsilver
and the needy for a pair of sandals
and sell the chaff of the wheat?”
