23For the commandment is aa lamp and the teaching a light,
and the breproofs of discipline are the way of life,

Isaiah 42:1-4

The Lord’s Chosen Servant

1 cBehold dmy servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen, ein whom my soul delights;
fI have put my Spirit upon him;
ghe will bring forth justice to the nations.
2He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
or make it heard in the street;
3 ha bruised reed he will not break,
and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
ihe will faithfully bring forth justice.
4He will not grow faint or be discouraged
Or bruised

till he has established justice in the earth;
and kthe coastlands wait for his law.

Isaiah 42:6

6I am the Lord; lI have called you
The Hebrew for  you is singular; four times in this verse
in righteousness;
I will take you by the hand and keep you;
I will give you nas a covenant for the people,
oa light for the nations,

Isaiah 49:6

6he says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
pI will make you qas a light for the nations,
that rmy salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Matthew 12:18-20

18 sBehold, my tservant whom I have chosen,
my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased.
uI will put my Spirit upon him,
and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
19He will not quarrel or cry aloud,
nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets;
20a bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not quench,
until he brings justice to victory;

Luke 2:32

32 va light for revelation to the Gentiles,

John 16:8-11
