Proverbs 6:4-10

4 aGive your eyes no sleep
and your eyelids no slumber;
5save yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
Hebrew lacks  of the hunter

clike a bird from the hand of the fowler.
6 dGo to ethe ant, O fsluggard;
consider her ways, and gbe wise.
7 hWithout having any chief,
iofficer, or ruler,
8she prepares her bread jin summer
and kgathers her food in harvest.
9 lHow long will you lie there, mO sluggard?
When will you arise from your sleep?
10 nA little sleep, a little slumber,
oa little pfolding of the hands to rest,

Proverbs 24:30-34

30 qI passed by the field of a sluggard,
by the vineyard of a man rlacking sense,
31and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns;
the ground was covered with nettles,
and its stone swall was broken down.
32Then I saw and tconsidered it;
I looked and received instruction.
33 uA little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest,
34and poverty will come upon you like a robber,
and want like an armed man.

Jonah 1:2-6

2Arise, go to vNineveh, that wgreat city, and call out against it, xfor their evil
The same Hebrew word can mean  evil or disaster, depending on the context; so throughout Jonah
has come up before me.”
3But Jonah zrose to flee to aaTarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to abJoppa and found a ship going to acTarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to adTarshish, aeaway from the presence of the Lord.

4But afthe Lord hurled a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship threatened agto break up. 5Then the mariners were afraid, and aheach cried out to his god. And aithey hurled the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone down into the inner part of the ship and had lain down and was fast asleep. 6So the captain came and said to him, “What do you mean, you sleeper? Arise, ajcall out to your god! akPerhaps the god will give a thought to us, that we may not perish.”

Nahum 3:18

18 Your shepherds alare asleep,
O king of Assyria;
amyour nobles slumber.
Your people anare scattered on the mountains
with none to gather them.

Mark 13:34-37

34 aoIt is like a man apgoing on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants

in charge, areach with his work, and commands asthe doorkeeper to stay awake.
35 atTherefore stay awakefor you do not know when the master of the house will come, auin the evening, or avat midnight, or awwhen the rooster crows,
That is, the third watch of the night, between midnight and 3 a.m.
or ayin the morning
36lest azhe come suddenly and bafind you asleep. 37And what I say to you I say to all: bbStay awake.”
