Proverbs 15:8

8 ^dThe sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
but ^ethe prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.

Isaiah 1:10-15

10 Hear the word of the Lord,

Isaiah 48:2

2 For they call themselves after the holy city,
^tand stay themselves on the God of Israel;
the Lord of hosts is his name.

Isaiah 58:2-4

2 ^uYet they seek me daily
and delight to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that did righteousness
and did not forsake the judgment of their God;
they ask of me righteous judgments;
they delight to draw near to God.
3 ^v‘Why have we fasted, and you see it not?
Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’

4 Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight

Fasting like yours this day
