Psalms 1:1-4

The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

1 Blessed is the man ^{▼▼The singular Hebrew word for man (ish) is used here to portray a representative example of a godly person; see Preface}
who ^bwalks not in ^cthe counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in ^dthe way of sinners,
nor ^esits in ^fthe seat of ^gscoffers;
2 but his ^hdelight is in the law ^{▼▼Or instruction} of the Lord,
and on his ^jlaw he meditates day and night.
3 He is like ^ka tree
planted by ^lstreams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its ^mleaf does not wither.
ⁿIn all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like ^ochaff that the wind drives away.

Psalms 21:3-5

3 For you ^pmeet him with rich blessings;
you set ^qa crown of ^rfine gold upon his head.
4 He asked life of you; you ^sgave it to him,
^tlength of days forever and ever.
5 His ^uglory is great through your salvation;
^vsplendor and majesty you bestow on him.

Psalms 23:6
