Psalms 10:3-6

3For the wicked aboasts of the desires of his soul,
and the one greedy for gain bcurses
Or  and he blesses the one greedy for gain
and drenounces the Lord.
4In the pride of his face
Or  of his anger
the wicked does not fseek him;
Or  the wicked says, “He will not call to account”

all his thoughts are, h“There is no God.”
5His ways prosper at all times;
your judgments are on high, iout of his sight;
as for all his foes, he jpuffs at them.
6He ksays in his heart, “I shall not be moved;
throughout all generations I lshall not meet adversity.”

Psalms 49:11

11Their mgraves are their homes forever,
Septuagint, Syriac, Targum; Hebrew  Their inward thought was that their homes were forever

their dwelling places oto all generations,
though they pcalled lands by their own names.

Psalms 52:7

7See the man who would not make
God his refuge,
but qtrusted in the abundance of his riches
and sought refuge in his own destruction!”

Proverbs 18:11-12

11 sA rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
and like a high wall in his imagination.

Isaiah 28:15

15Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death,
and with Sheol we have an agreement,
when the voverwhelming whip passes through
it will not come to us,
for we have made wlies our refuge,
and in falsehood we have taken shelter”;

Isaiah 47:7-9

7You said, “I shall be xmistress forever,”
so that you did not lay these things to heart
or remember their end.
8 Now therefore hear this, yyou lover of pleasures,
zwho sit securely,
who say in your heart,
aaI am, and there is no one besides me;
abI shall not sit as a widow
or know the loss of children”:
9 acThese two things shall come to you
in a moment, adin one day;
the loss of children and widowhood

Jeremiah 49:16

16The horror you inspire has deceived you,

Or  of Sela

who hold the height of the hill.
Though you agmake your nest as high as the eagle’s,
I will bring you down from there,
